摘要:Optical techniques have proven to be powerful and versatile tools for the characterization and measurement of fundamental material properties. In this study, we utilize optical techniques to uncover the unique properties of cubic boron arsenide (c-BAs), specifically its exceptional combination of high thermal conductivity and high carrier mobility. Through the development of photoluminescence mapping, we assess the thermal conductivity of c-BAs, followed by the utilization of time-domain thermo-photoluminescence for non-invasive measurements of its high thermal conductivity. Additionally, transient reflectance microscopy allows us to investigate the diffusion behavior of photo-excited electrons and holes, providing valuable insights into the ambipolar carrier mobility of c-BAs. Furthermore, we discuss the application of an idealized Tauc plot method using UV-Vis spectroscopy to accurately determine the bandgap of semiconductors, resulting in a determined bandgap of 1.83 eV for c-BAs. These findings highlight the efficacy of optical techniques in revealing the unique properties of c-BAs and underscore its potential for various applications in next-generation electronics.
