摘要:Self-organization is a characteristic feature of living systems that exist far from thermodynamic equilibrium or dissipative dynamics. The establishment of such a state, far from thermodynamic equilibrium, relies on the constant supply of energy. This phenomenon is evident in biological systems, ranging from sub-cellular components to multicellular organisms. Our objective is to deepen the understanding of living active matter self-organization by employing motile bacteria as a model system. During this presentation, I will highlight several captivating instances of ordering observed in biofilm-based active systems, which emerge solely from physical interactions. Additionally, I will explore the potential advantages that bacterial communities can gain from these ordering mechanisms. The insights obtained from these investigations hold significance for non-equilibrium physics, microbial physiology, and the field of active matter engineering.
个人简介:
2015年于中国科学技术大学获得物理专业学士学位,2020年于香港中文大学获得理学博士学位,2020年至2023年于香港中文大学从事博士后研究。将于2024年1月份作为百人计划研究员加入皇冠物理高等研究院。研究方向为生命活性物质中的自组织和斑图,活性固体液晶的自主运动,细菌菌落中机械信号同步,非线性流体仿真等科学问题。相关研究成果以第一作者身份发表在Nature Physics, PNAS, Nature Communications等国际权威期刊发上,并受邀在StatPhys28 Satellite Meeting (2023), International Workshop on Biophysics and Soft Matter (2023), HKUST Seminar (2020),Chinese Physics Society (2018)等会议中做邀请报告。
